Heritage Projects
CASBA ran two Heritage Lottery funded oral history projects from 2017-2021.
The first one was looking at the experiences of people involved in Monyhull Hospital at the time when they were moving the residents out to live in the community.
The second one was to mark 50 years of the Education Act passed in 1970, which meant that finally everyone had the right to an edcuation. That was called Education is Special.
Why did we do these?

This is an important way of getting people's voices heard in a different way.

Learning disability history is not very well known, especially using the voices of citizens with a learning disability.

We were able to train people and give them new skills.
