CASBA LINK transport meeting

Getting our voices heard on transport

On June 11th Kirsty (one of our link group members ) and I went to a transport workshop. We had a chance to tell others about the difficulties people with disabilities have when trying to use public transport in Birmingham.

On June 11th Kirsty (one of our link group members ) and I went to a transport workshop.

We had a chance to tell others about the difficulties people with disabilities have when trying to use public transport in Birmingham.

We met with professionals, including some from Transport for West Midlands, and members of the public with various disabilities. It was good to hear the voices of all.

Everyone had a chance to share their views and experiences.

There were discussions on the different types of transport and how accessible it is. We also talked about the bike lanes, adapted cycles and the issues faced when trying to get a taxi with an assistance dog.

It was a good day and was good to hear from others facing the same issues as the link members. Transport is so important, so it’s good to get our voices heard.
