CASBA Ambassadors

CASBA has a clear goal.

We want a society where people with learning disabilities are equal.

We want people to get their voice heard and their rights accepted.

A gift in your Will can help us to make it happen.

What will be the impact of your gift?

At CASBA, we are grateful for every gift we receive from wonderful supporters like you.

Currently, only 1.4% of citizens with a learning disability are in paid employment in Birmingham. We know how capable many of them are through seeing them getting involved in decision-making, running events, delivering training, and supporting their peers.

A gift in your Will can help us to change perceptions among local employers and help our citizens find opportunities.

Without advocate support, citizens' rights are at risk.

CASBA Advocacy

A gift of around £20,000, just 3% of the average UK estate*, could:

  • Fund an advocate for six months
  • Keep our self-advocacy groups running for half a year
  • Provide inclusive cooking and exercise classes for a whole year

Continuing to create an equal society for adults with learning disabilities.

*£599k = Average UK estate size 2024 (The Legacy Giving Report 2025)

Below are just some of the ways that your gift will help:

Danielle Hooper
This is Danielle’s story:

When Danielle first came to CASBA, she was just beginning to understand her autism and how to communicate her needs. Now she advocates for herself with confidence and volunteers at her local charity shop.

CJanet Kane - ASBA Easy read Services
This is Janet's Story
When Janet first came to CASBA, she was shy and found it difficult to leave the house. Now she is a confident advocate, a trustee, and a key member who supports others and shares her voice in meetings, presentations and beyond.
Georgia Hooper
This is Georgina’s story
When Georgina joined CASBA, she was shy and nervous. Now she advocates for herself with confidence. She has achieved a merit in a speaking and listening exam and has begun raising awareness about autism with others.

Why I will leave a gift

My name is Jackie Pountney. I am a Trustee at CASBA. I plan to leave a gift to CASBA in my Will.

“I want CASBA to still be here for people with learning disabilities and I decided one of the ways I could best achieve this would be to leave a percentage of my estate to CASBA.

My gift would help CASBA remain strong into the future.”
