CASBA is the longest established advocacy organisation for people with learning disabilities in Birmingham. As we get ready to celebrate our 40th birthday in 2028, launch our new five-year strategy and set CASBA up for long-term success and sustainability, we are looking to strengthen our Board now.

Following a recent Board review and skills audit, we have identified a number of gaps and we are now looking for skilled and passionate people to join our Board. You will have skills and experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Fundraising
• Governance
• Safeguarding
• Finance

Most importantly, you will have the passion to contribute to our vision to see people with learning disabilities live as equal citizens in society. We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have experience of senior leadership or project management.

In addition, you will:

• be committed to CASBA’s vison, mission and values
• be willing to share your skills and experience to support CASBA to move forward
• be able to think creatively and strategically,
• exercise sound, independent judgement
• work as part of a team
• be willing to contribute to discussions
• have a strong personal commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
• be able to attend 6-8 trustee meetings a year, either face to face or online
• be willing to accept the responsibilities and liabilities as a trustee and to act in the best interests of the organisation

As a Trustee you will champion the work of our staff and volunteers, supporting them through your knowledge and skills to help us continue to provide our services and empower our citizens.
